Jib all the way in and with the linkage in the fully raised position does provide a lumber support! The short jib/heavy lift option will be for jobs like stump pulling, I imagine. Not really practical for lifting and placing loads.

After seeing a guy near killed when a mounted fork lift sheared the linkage on a major I would be very carefull weighting the front and picking up a big load. The week link right now is the front coming up and giving the warning

If you ballast more the next week point will be the linkage and there many not be a warning only a load bang if something goes wrong, and hopefully nobodys hurt or killed. There are huge forces involved in what your doing and the major linkage is not that strong. The health and safety might have something to say about it too if something happens

it's a great piece of engineering but please be carefull using it
