So this is what the inside of my VR looks like, is there a way to solder this? Also, can I use this with a GM 10SI alternator? The previous owner converted to alternator and my uncle bought it and tossed the original generator before Dad and I bought it.

Looks like you have a burned connection. Fourth from the left. Time to have the generator checked to see that it is not shorted, and is putting out power. Then install a new regulator. Someone may have also connected it wrong somewhere along the line at one time and cooked it. Or, as we say here, "Let The Smoke Out." Ahhhhh, no generator. I have adapted Delco Intagrial Alternators in the past on different Applications. They work well. Dandy Dave!

The 10SI alternator is made by Delco Remy -- but there are also clones which are just as good.
SI stands for 'System Integrated' which means it has an internal regulator -- therefore no external generator/dynamo regulator is required and should be completely isolated.
Wiring:
The main [large] terminal should be connected directly to the battery with, I suggest, 50amp. wire.
You could have 2 small terminals, side by side, marked 1 & 2. If so connect number 1 to the warning/charge lamp [which is also switch operated]. Connect number 2 directly to the main battery terminal 50 amp. wire.
If there is only one [1] small terminal, connect this to the switched warning light.
You will, of course, have to disconnect all the wires from the old regulator, tape off some, and join others together for continuity. Some while back I posted how to do this and I'll look up the date if needed.
