the outer bearing ring you can get out by using a big puller, and heating the ring

Hi,
If the tractor has been standing the seal(s) may have hardened.
Mine did and leaked. I then used the tractor to plough 3 acres and the problen disappeared. Guess the oil got hot and the seals softened. No further problems over the next five years.
Worth a try even if you drive it round for 4-5 hours.
Good luck

This photo shows one way of doing it. The hydraulic jack applies steady pressure and the seal tinwork simply pops off the end of the axle trumpet.

Oops. Just re-read the question and I haven't answered it! :eyes:

Once I had my half shafts out, I asked a local engineering firm to use a press to get the bearings off. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Best

The tinwork is spiked into a groove in a number of places and is easy to prise out, there is no need for jacks or big hammers.

This was the original question, not how to get the seal off
