yet more locking tabs needed!!

Post by thestig246 »

Hi y'all

hope you guys are all well, plenty of snow here in the uk at the mo :)

gives me some time to work on me major :D i have now come around to putting the front plate, that goes on before the timming gears, and there are a couple of bolts there that require some more locking tabs(orginalls had not been put back on) so no idea what im looking for.. :? also in the book there is a funny shaped locking tab thing on the end of the camshaft (which is also missing)

if anyone could put me onto something that would be grand :)

Thanks again dan

I don't have any idea on where to get the locking tabs. I would probably use Loctite or other similar thread locking adhesive. I am not sure but I think locking tabs have been pretty well superseded in modern machinery by adhesive locking.

Here's a scan of the workshop manual showing the tabs. Making them shouldn't be too difficult - must say, I haven't come across any supplier of these. I re-used the originals together with loctite on the threads.

There's a tightening sequence. Let me know if you need it.

Best
