1962 engine has the oil pressure relief valve as part of the oil pump.
If your 1962 engine has the 1952 sump(no doubt for the axle 'a' frame pin), then it will also have the 1952 oil pump fitted, as the 1962 oil pump will not fit in a 1952 sump.
Therefore your engine will have no oil pressure relief valve.
You don't say how high your oil pressure is on start-up, and then when running.
I have had a 1966 engine with a 1957 sump on one of my Majors, and the oil pressure was around 160psi. That in itself would probably not be good for the bearings.
Sounds like your engine is totally stripped down now, so might as well go the whole way and do it properly.

You also say that you don't know why oil is coming out of the breather? Which breather do you mean? The oil fill hole on the rocker cover, the tube on the pushrod cover behind the injecter pump, the dipstick or the breather on the timing cover.

The 1952 head will fit all the block bolt holes are the same, but you have to use the manifolds off the 52 as the ports are different ( staggered or inline) and blank the vacuum holes off, and remove or hold the air flap up if it had a mech governed pump fitted.
The rocker shafts and rocker cover for it are different. The 52 head doesn't have the screws tapped round the cover base it has 2 bolts in the rocker shaft top. I'm not sure if the push rods are different length as well as there was a change somewhere in the rocker arm length at some point too
.52 might have a de compressor lever in the right rear of the head casting .
Basically once it's all together as far as I know you just don't get the same power from using the 52 head against the Mk 2 or the FL head, on a blue grey super. it would actually be interesting to see pictures of this motor to see what he does have and if it is infact a 52 head
