Hi all from me and my new power major
Just thought I'd say hi, I've worked on a estate which used to own a super and still owns a power major, the latter we got running after about 20 years of storage. Which lead me to wanting to replace my stationary ford 2722e engine. On Sunday I picked up my very own 'dead" power major. Story goes it was partially restored but then the owner put the worst diesel in and well.... So I've removed the tank and all pipes, cleaned everything out, and upon putting it all back together she started on second go perfectly. The next issue and is the slight water in oil, the head gasket was replaced the there's no rocker gasket! Plus a screw was missing and the remaining 5 were lose, being she was dumped in a field for the year I'm hoping it's a bit of rain got in. I've now flushed engine oil and rad, and put in new. Next step is to get gears working, I can't get first, it just jumps out on me, and can't get 5/6 at all, hoping to look at this tomorrow. Will add some pictures of her to at some point if anyone is interested.
sorry for the waffle to haha

Welcome to the forum Brendan, it's good that you've been involved in bringing 2 neglected Power Majors back to life! There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here, and me too.. I don't know the answer to your hydraulics question in your other thread, my first Major was a Super which had the pull-out button to isolate the lift arms but my current tractor works like yours, when tipping a trailer it first raises the linkage to their maximum height.
