I'm confused , ( doesn't take much ! ) I've got a super major
08C956310 , tombstone and g/box castings 3D23 and 3D24 , also has the FL head mark , which seems to be a fairly safe April 1963 . When I got it ( in poor condition ) it had a set of early orange wheels , ( 4 spoke fronts ) , poor wings ( blue ) , and no
grills . Would its original colours have been blue/orange ( 3 spoke front wheels ) blue wings , orange grills ( with h/lights in grills ) ?
when did the blue/ grey colour scheme start ? any clarification
appreciated .
Super Major .

Hello TMC,
Welcome to the board.
The number and casting codes indicates May 1963, so it's a late Super Major. Not a New Performance Super Major. With the New Performance the grey colour scheme started. That was by July 1963.
It should be bleu / orange. Have 3 spoke wheels at the front or steel rims. DON'T MENTION THE ORANGE GRILLS. It will only upset Brian. They should be silver I think.
Any change on a picture?
