Seems like a lot of work for slower draining! Definitely easier to replace than the 3/4"-24 UNS.

The pictures you posted look just like mine, do you think I could find one from a dealer anywhere.
I am glad it's not just my tractor, I have refitted the old one for now as I need to use the tractor but would like to replace it next oil change if possible.

I don't think a dealer will have it, but it is worth a try. I would look around a scrapy, as if there's a Major sump it's quite likely to have the plug there. Ignore sumps with an inspection cover as those have the 7/8" UNF plug.

Optionally you could ring agriline and ask them for the difference between their 5720 and 5720a sump plug for Fordson major. One would assume one of them is the right size.

I don't think they're different, for some reason they think the sumps without an inspection plate on a Mk1 are different from the later ones when there was no Mk1 originally without an inspection plate. Both are E1ADKN-6730A, 7/8" UNF.

I did call Agriline, they sent me both, and both are wrong , I had a conversation and emailed pictures with them in my caliper showing the size, they still sent both that were incorrect size and thread, have them here to return, not any help at all.

Were they both 7/8" UNF? If not they'll have made a bigger mistake.

Yes they were both 7/8 with a course thread measuring 21.4mm one with a 28mm head one with 32mm head part no 5720 and 5720A both no use.

I don't understand why there's the difference in head size, but the original plug was probably neither of those. 7/8" should be 22.225mm.
