Bushing for Clutch and Brake pedals
Bushing for Clutch and Brake pedals
Hi
All my brake and clutch pedals are very loose, and I’m pretty sure new bushings would make the pedals much more precise to use.
I’ve run into a few snags finding the correct parts:
- Brake pedal: I have not been able to find the bushing for the brake pedal, part no. E1ADDN‑2461.
- Clutch pedal: Parts seem to be available, but there is some confusion.
Histoparts list H5864, 32.1 × 28.5 × 51 mm, and claim it fits all Fordson Major / Power Major / Super Major clutch pedals.
In the Fordson parts list there are two different clutch pedal bushings: EIADKN‑7513‑A and E322‑GD‑9, one used before Nov. 1960 and one after Nov. 1960.
Agriline also list a clutch pedal bush, but with slightly different dimensions from Histoparts (might just be a print/description error).
Questions:
- Does anyone know the actual difference between the two Ford clutch pedal bushings EIADKN‑7513‑A and E322‑GD‑9 (material, length, shoulder,
tractor serial break, etc.)?
- Has anyone here actually fitted the Histoparts or Agriline clutch bush on both early and late tractors and can confirm they really do fit “all”,
despite the Ford parts list showing two numbers?
-The clutch linkage also has another bush, E27N‑7616, which I have not been able to find a supplier for. Does anyone know a source for this one,
or a modern equivalent/size so I could get a generic bush made or turned?
Any info, measurements or photos from an original setup would be very welcome.

Re: Bushing for Clutch and Brake pedals
There are more bushes. E1ADKN-7513 is for early clutch pedals, but not those with live clutches. Super Major's use E1ADDN-7513 (outer) and E322-GD-9 (inner). Brake pedals use 7V-3109 for early tractors and E1ADDN-2461 for Super Major's. E1ADKN-7513 is also fitted in the bell housing and rear axle casting to carry the two cross shafts. E27N-7616 is for the balance lever, you might get better working by putting it in the opposite way round, other than that L McBride have one (incorrectly marked 957E). Cox and Turner are also good for some less common parts. Other than rrequesting these two to make he correct parts I suggest getting the thicker bush (sold for clutch pedals), and turning it down once fitted to the width of each pedal, unless the thinner one (sold for brake pedals) is close enough. I believe no grease grooves are present in these new bushes, can't say about original ones yet but I'll try to see our parts tractor and Billy when we fix him. I suspect E1ADDN-7513 and E322-GD-9 are only different by grease grooves but I'll get back to you on that.

Hi
I have removed the cross shaft, but is unable to loosen the lever for left hand brake, and then the clutch pedal.

The pin holding the lever seems to be a special one.
On one side it has a flat part, and I assume this is the side to hammer on, but so far no movement.
Anyone can confirm?
Possibly some heat may help.
It don't look corroded, so I cant see why it will not go out.
Anyway, the Fordson repair manual tells us to pull out the cross shaft on the left side of the tractor.
I cant see the reason why they say so.
Regards Kjetil

The pin is 508E-5782, also used on Thames Trader spring shackles as a locking pin. The flat is actually part of a taper, you'll need to hit it quite hard. Not sure which manual you're reading, the Super Major supplement clearly states that it should come out the RH side (avoiding the keyway). On earlier tractors it says nothing although it does make sense to take it out the LH side to avoid the circlip groove attacking the seals.

Hi
Sandy, you were right, the manual said RH side.
Just to have it 100% sure, shall I hit the locking pin on the end with the flat side, or on the side extending out of the pedal.
Thanks

See how the pin moves, I would suggest to not start on the flat part (It's really been a while since I removed that shaft).
Your shaft could be worn out, so then you need a new one or get it repaired.
The part from Agriline and Histoparts are very similar.

Re: Bushing for Clutch and Brake pedals
I think the shafts rarely wear much compared to the bushes. There is a flat to fit the flat on the pin and lock the arm on. the end with the flat is the one to hit, otherwise you'll lock it on even harder.

I concur here too, but you'll need to modify it, with a hole and groove for grease. The groove should be blind at both ends.mathias1 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2026 7:30 amI think this bush could be a good fit:

Hi, I’ve already done this repair. I got this pin out using a hydraulic press and heat. It was really stuck in there... At first, I wanted to hammer it out, but then I went to a friend’s workshop and, with the help of a hydraulic press, it went smoothly. I also replaced the bushings, but I don’t remember what kind they were… I do know, though, that I bought everything at Agrilline back then. Have a nice day, Aleš
Re: Bushing for Clutch and Brake pedals
Very encouraging. I'll post something about this for earlier tractors, for we'll be doing Billy's ones soon.
