Injector pump (Super major-63) lubricated by the diesel??

I wonder if i need to have some oil in my injector pump or
is it lubricated by the diesel?
(Super major -63)

The Governor is lubricated by engine oil, filled from the 15/16th plug, drained from the 1/2" plug on the bottom and the level is the 1/2" plug on the side. (Spanner sizes). Expect to find diesel leaking into the oil. This is normal.

The pump itself is lubricated by diesel. The oil is only needed in the mechanical governor. If you have a vacuum governed pump you do not need to put oil in it at all.

Hi Martini, you have found a great forum. Some very good info on here. With Brian's and Henk's help I have made progess in getting my old '59 power major up and running. Maybe one day I'll be able to give someone some advice, oh yea, if anyones tractor has been idle for some years as mine I believe it would pay to go ahead and do a good cleaning of the hydraulics before putting to heavy use.

You have not heard me try to speak Finnish so do not worry about spelling and grammar.

We have at least two Finnish friends and of course, J-P.

He brought us a "food parcel" earlier this year which included liquorice vodka! That slipped down very well, pity no-one can remember what else happened after they drank it!

One of our friends is a very beautiful Finnish exercise teacher who runs classes for ladies here in the village.
