Ditto on the bypass or circulation in the block during warm-up here Gents and it was the air bleed hole in the stat I had mis remembered, thanks Pavel, BTW I'll check to see if Brian's cooling system is running ok or if he has steam coming out of his ears when I see him over the weekend
(its cold tonight and due to hold, so hopefully you & Ann are putting some suitable bottles of 'anti freeze' aboard to combat this)
Best regards

At the risk of further flogging this coolant 'horse' to death, which I have no intention of doing, it crosses my mind that there is another thing that helps to promote, and stabilize, coolant temperatures, and that is the radiator/fan blade shroud. Having one fitted increases efficiency by some 25%.
Fully agree Pavel but most of the tractors I see in Australia have the shroud removed and thrown away in the mistaken belief that it blocks off air flow. My New Zealand Petrol Dexta has had it removed and so have a number I have seen in pictures from the US.

Brian
I've come to the conclusion, Brian, that here in Oz it's down to the 'cocky' [a small farmer with few resources] attitude of "she'll be right mate". The surprising thing is that most times it works -- well mainly anyway.
Another aspect of overcooling being better in the eyes, or perhaps experience of the manufacturers - over engineering ? like the Major back end, able to take 2 Merlin's worth of torque without turning into spaghetti
Pavel, you would have been proud of all the Ozzie Fordson pictures Brian and Ann had displayed on their stand at the show today
Best regards
