Hello

I need to do some maintenance on the Hydraulic Power Lift on my Super Major 64 model.

To check the Main Control Spring setting, according to the Repair Manual I will need special tools T.8520 and T.8520-1.

This tools will make it easy to generate a force of 250 lbs or 113.5 kg onto the Main Control Spring.

I assume this tools it not available anymore, so I would like some ideas to solve this problems.

If anyone have the tools I would like to know the size of T.8520-1.

Any help welcome.

The tool was never really used in service, we just used to tighten the housing up to ensure the spring was just held.

You then adjust the turnbuckle until there is no free play. Be aware that the turnbuckle will show no free play in only one spot. Too loose = free play, too tight = free play.

That means the top needs to go off.

Doesn't matter since it probably had to go off anyway.

At present time I am reading the maintenance manual, preparing.

A few other special tools is also listed. Is any of those required, or will just standard tools do?

No, the top does not have to come odd to set the rear spring. The turnbuckle is the part that fits into the third link rocker.

You do not need any special tools to set the lift, all can be made as they are mainly gauges and the details are all in the Wiki article here on hydraulic lifts.
