What type fordson major is it . and how old??

Post by Pedro »

Last i have to buy a fordson major.
i think it is an super major, because other people said it is a power major.

divers serial numbers are:

on motorblock under the head :08D947569 and big letters FL on the head.

type plate under hood: engin no 1415619
at the other side on the block E1ADDN 6015 (e t4)
at the feulpump:P4630
on the left side at the front shaftplateE1DDN5020C 3H13
transmission code:3G13
rear shaft:3G20
clutchhousing:3G10

Please who can help me .

Thanks.

The serialnumber has an error. The D stands for 1964 but the rest 947569 stands for February 1963 so look carefully once more. The type plate under the hood is from January 1957 from a New Fordson Major Mark I.
transmission code:3G13 is13:th july 1963
rear shaft:3G20 is from 20:th july 1963
clutchhousing:3G10 is from 10:th july 1963
My opinion is that you have missread the enginenumber a little and the firevall is a 57 and you have a 1963 Super Major.
The engine is 5 months newer than the rest though. :scratchhead: The serialnumber error again. :?

Hi Pedro,
Welcome to the BB.
The serial number list that I have says that your engine number is Jan. 1964. The strange part is the firewall. Someone must have changed it because of corrosion from the battery. I thought that they stopped putting the engine numbers on the firewall tag before 1957. Does anyone know what the last tractor was with the number on the tag?

Hello Pedro,

It's a Super but you have the new major lift cover with no depth control. Luckily you have the extra valve setting and a low gearbox.
There's one for sale at St Maartensdijk now. He's asking 500 euro's
Kind regards, Henk
