Unless the lacquer is special for enamel, then any trade paint shop or vehicle body shop should be able to help.
I use linseed oil mixed with turps and wiped on.

Hi john, does that mixture set hard?
and what percentages are they mixed in? 50 - 50?

I was put on to it by a friend of mine who has a collection of 25 tractors and is local president of a tractor club.
He mixes linseed oil (can be used neat) with about 10% turps and either sprayed, brushed or wiped on. Although it dries off nice and shiny, it stays plastic enough to keep sealing the surface.
Particularly good for paintwork in need of preservation, rather than the option of respraying. Makes the tinwork look like it's been wiped down with an oily rag.
Just done mine, but haven't taken a photo yet.
PS - a litre each of linseed and turps cost about €7,00 in total.

A friend has invited me to go bail carting next summer. cant wait

If necessary, give her a good T-cutting and buffing first. Makes a lot of difference.
