Hi guys I put that on the BFF having seen it on the Classic Machnery Network. It is a Dodge 6x4 (although to be fair the back axle is partly obscured. It is fitted with the LAD cab which stood for Leyland Albion Dodge. Dodge was part of the Rootes group before being swallowed by Chrysler. The truck would have probably been fitted with a Perkins 6 cyl or Leyland 6 cyl 400 engine. It was quite common for the mixers to be driven by a 'Donkey' engine before the advent of more powerful engines in trucks. I am surprised he Major bonnet or hood was not painted in the truck livery.
ps would have posted it on here but I have never got to grips with that.

Hi Pete,
Didn't read the name of the author so didn't see it was you who posted it.
That they used a donke engine is easy to understand. But what I think is funny is that the complete bonnet and grilles are used too.
Best regards

My grandad used to have a welder running from a fordson engine built on a trailer, and if I remember correctly he also had a similar setup with an allis chalmers model B engine. It was awesome.
