Drop arm/drag link union

I've got some play in the aft end of the drag link, and need to sort it. The manual describes drag link operations as simply 'remove drag link'. No method given.

Is it just a case of removing the split pin and castellated nut on the end of the stud to access the parts?

And what's the function of the plug/spring/seat in the ends of the link?

Many thanks.

That's the way to do it John,

Could you show a picture of the end your talking about?

Thanks for the help, henk. It's where the steering drop arm meets the drag link.

John,

I was a little confused and thought you were talking about the lift arm.

For the drag link you have to remove the pin and nut, but then you will need a tapered U peace of metal between the steering arm and the drag link to free the tapered pin into the steering arm.

At the end of the drag link there's a screw from about 20 mm. Unscrew it and the ball end will come out of the drag link. To adjust ball end of the tapered pin you will have to press some grease into the nipple. If this has been done to late the cup will be worn. I made new ones for myself. The worked well so far.

henk, from what you say it looks like I'll need to fashion some cups.

When you talk about the 'screw', do you mean the plug (and spring) in the end of the arm, the one with the large full-width slot?
