The 1958 Diesel Major instruments were below the tank.
I saw that the temp and oil press gauges were at the top.
Unfortunately the bottom section of the enclosure is missing on my FM.
Can someone please send me photo of the complete box, how it should look ?

Tjibbe,

Not so sharp, but maybe good enough.

Henk ;
Many thanks.
I take it that the bottom meter is an ammeter.
The red light is the generator charging light ?
The toggle switch is switching what ?

Tjibbe,

Your right, the bottom meter is an ammeter.

The toggle switch is switching the direction lights and the red light is the warning light for the direction lights.
This is not original.

In the bottom parts there’s also the regulator. When you have to buy a new one, be sure you buy the one with the screws instead of the flat connectors. It's much harder to get the wiring into the dashboard with connectors.

Thanks Henk - my query is now resolved.
I am very tempted to replace the generator (dynamo) with an alternator; apart from higher charging output at low revs, one can obviously also do away with the old regulator and all the wiring.
