Super Major Resto complete

Hi all had the week off to finish the "old girl" got her out today took her for a trip up the road all seems ok except for the steering will probably rebuild the steering box when time allows as booked into a show at Castle Combe this weekend so most of the day was spent cleaning the Major and the County.

Question : the orange colour; do you have a paint code ?

Hi Tjibbe, sorry m8 dont have the paint code got it from agriline, got the Empire Blue from T.H.Whites our local New Holland Dealers.

Looks incredible hope one day mine will look half as good as yours one question i purchased some headlights from agriline and they really stick out far from the grille has anybody else had this ?? But once again both tractors look great

The front of the headlamps should not come more than 0.25 to 0.50 inch through the grilles, if you have the the proper (post 11/60) shallow headlamps, set up with the correct mounting brackets. It can look a little odd, because the grilles are at slight angles and the headlamps look straight ahead (if you have set the lights up so that they don't light up the top of the nearside hedge!) Essentially, you get what you pay for if you haven't got some original Super Major headlamps stashed away in a box on your garage shelf. I have seen dealers asking £85 for a pair of rusty (yet recoverable) Super Major headlamp shells. You still had to get lenses, reflectors and bulbs on top of that.

There are only a few parts that are common between the side and grille mounted headlamps, even the bulbs are different. The real problem starts when you have pattern parts manufacturers who don't seem to understand the importance of having headlamps in the correct plane and at the correct height to sit in the right position, so that they do not chafe the aperture in the grille, or rub against the radiator core. Then add in pattern-part grilles and you are in square peg in round hole territory. Sorry, I may sound somewhat "down" on some of our pattern part suppliers, but quite frankly, they have earned their reputation on what they provide to me.
