Hi folks
What kind of job is it to replace the axle seals on my 1957 Major?
Thanks

There are some topics about this subject. As I see it, it's a pretty big job and there are two different seals used on the majors.

Many thanks Ian & Henk looks like I have a bit of a task ahead of me. I didn't imagine I had to strip down as much as that, just as well I'm a mechanic LOL

The hardest part of this job is getting your wife/ girlfriend or mother to let you use the oven in the house, to pre warm the bearings to expand them to slip over the axle flange.
good luck with the project

Give them a credit card or money and send them to the Mall. They will be occupied for hours and when they return, they will be none the wiser.

Chalk it up as part of the expense of owning a Fordson Major.

If it is your wife, or Girl friend, you may even get lucky after the bearings are in.
