O Rings

Post by Gman »

Hello to all. I purchased extra o rings for the repairs I have done and want to store them if needed later. Any recommendations on how to store these so I can use them a few years later? I still have some soaking in oil that I didn't use and some still in the packages they came in.
Thanks

I have a few sets spare with sleeves that are probably 20 years old they are in the orginal card board packing away from the sun light and they seem to be fine. I also have 2 year old ones in plastic bags from the manufacturer that are good to. I guess as long as they are not in the heat or sun light they will be fine.
Im not to sure what the oil will do to them though. sometimes strange things happen with the compounds they are made of and oil imersion over time.
Regards Robert

I give mine a mist coating of armor-all and keep them in sealable plastic sandwich bags in a dark place. They seem to keep forever although about 30 years are the oldest I still have!
