engine number

Can someone tell me more abouth this engine

Its in a bitsa super major witch I think of breaking down for parts dont no for sure yet because it is a runner

I think the 'S' is for service engine. I think they were used in other machinery like combine harvesters such as the Class Senetor. I would say your Super Major has had a heart transplant at some point. The back end is a Super but the top cover looks like an earlier diesel or power major.

I could be totally wrong but that is what I have been told in the past.

I agree with Scruff, the tractor is a Super but the hyd lid is from a Major/Power Major, and I’m quite sure the three point lift is using the drop arms and lower link arms from a County Super Six. Looks like you got a little bit of a junk yard dog :)

S is indeed for an industrial unit not a tractor engine. Tractor looks a true Fordson Major ASP! :D

The super six is on my list too so I have some parts now, I bought it for scrap so thats never a problem
