The resevoir has fluid in, the pulley turns and the belt isn't slipping but the ram isn't moving.Can anyone shed any light on what's happening or point me towards previous posts on this subject. Thanks.

Is the valve on the steering link moving? Have you got the high and low pressure hoses the correct way round?

I've only had the tractor four weeks and only started her up a couple of days ago. She's " as delivered ". Where's the valve you're talking about? Another thing i've noticed is the back end is devoid of fluid, bone dry so i'm guessing there's a seal gone, but that's for another time. Thanks for the help.

You better at least put oil in it if it is dry. You will destroy something serious if you do not.

On the power steering, look at where the joint connects toward the front of the tractor. There is a valve inside of the cylinder that needs to move for the oil flow to move the cylinder. Mine was rusted stuck when I got it and I Freed it up and rebuilt it with some seals that I got from my local hydraulic repair shop. Works very well now. Dandy Dave!

I've jacked the front end up and the steering is very stiff. The wheels turn and the ram slides in and out so it's not siezed. I just can't work out why it's so stiff, it may have been stood for a long time. I'll keep trying it to see if it loosens up any.

The ram would be free. The valve in the end of it could be stuck. Mine was stuck to one side so that it wanted to steer to the right all the time. If it was stuck in the center, it would have the symptoms that you describe. Lack of pressure from the PS Pump would also cause a drag in the steering. Dandy Dave!
