Hello from down under, I have just begun the task of restoring a Fordson Major Diesel. 1957 I think. I have been reading the topics and have found numerous problems that I will and have encounterd. I will try to add a pic to this first effort to let you see what I am up agains.

Yes Brian, she is a bit of a beast. When first started, white smoke filled the shed and no control of speed of motor. After reading these forums I found that the injector return pipe from two of the injectors was letting diesell bypass and making sump oil diesel. The injectors were removed and inspected. Only one hole was open and to top it off, The end of the pump was removed to expose the bellows which happened to have o 30mm tear along one side.

Fine Looking FMD you have there. The diaphram problem is fairly common. It looks like you already have a good handle on it. Dandy Dave!
