Have just registered my super major and have a new oblong front number plate.
How can I fix it without spoiling it by bolting it to the tombstone.

Industrial strength Velcro from the wools and cottons shop, just off the square in the middle of Ely.

Hi I left England for Canada 10 years ago we used to sell new Registered Tractors as A main dealer. None of our new tractors had front plates only the yellow rear. is it now a legal requirement to fit them or can you save the bother and throw it straight over the hedge

. Maybe there is exemptions for antique viehcles if it is law

Robert, althoughI believe it's no longer the law here to have a front plate, it was in 1962, when we either bolted them to the tombstone or painted them on the nose cone.
I've bought a pressed aluminium? one which looks just right.
Brian you never cease to amaze me. Not only do you know all the various settings for most things agricultural but you also know where I can buy Velcro in a city which I've lived in and around for the past 40 years! Thank you, will buy some today

I have tried them John and they do not hold as well as I would like.
I had them on my last Discovery on the back door number plate and it was forever coming off.
I used the Velcro to hold control cards in an exposed box on a potato harvester and these have held for a number of years.
I found the shop in Ely by accident when I needed some double sided tape to replace some of the cards, and I have used it in my boxes ever since.
