My friend photographed this rather unusual looking major whilst on holiday in Menorca last week. Can anyone shed any light on it, as apart from the unusual looking filter type pod mounted on the front bonnet, it also has an unusual side emblem.

Yeah I can shed some light on it Im guessing that as its in spain and it says Ebro on the hood its a knock off copy of the best of british supermajor that was built over there

. That company bought all the molds when ford finnished with them in the U.K. I think those molds are where some of the poor repro parts that dont fit come from as I had useless spindles in Canada with the ebro stamp on them

. I guess that strange tank on the cowl is for power steering oil as it looks like it has 2 lines on .

Didn't know Majors were made in spain ??. Still not sure what the big cylinder is at the front though, I'm sure the power steering kits i've seen on Agriline etc don't have them.

Fordson sold their Major production line after they quit producing them and the entire thing was moved to Spain. Ebro built them under license from Ford. They not only built Supers, but Majors and Power Majors, too, I think. They had their own names for them, though.
If you use the search function, and search for the user name David Ebro, you can find more info. He lives in Spain and owns some Ebros.
David in Wales also posted a lot of info. on Ebro, but he usually deletes his pictures right after he posts them.

I have never seen a picture of the ebro one with power steering on from factory They may use a different style pump on them from factory, or somebody has made the kit up or changed the pump at some time in the past

.
You mension it is nothing like the agriline kit That is nothing like the original kit from fordson either

.
It is some knock up kit that was built to cash in on the demand from people wanting power steering cheap.
Good used proper complete kits are worth about 800 quid + on ebay or in wreckers if you can find them

.
I would not put one of those agriline kits on a tractor and put it in a concourse show as you would get nil point as the judges would laugh you out of the place for it being so inacurate

.
dont get me wrong I have no problem with the kit it functions and gives a guy what he wants at a price he can afford.
It just gives a guy that doesnt `know the impression thats what the ford kit was like from factory.
