Can we take it that you are quite keen on Dagenhams finest?
The Trader looks nice and the crane is an interesting piece of kit.
Where did the conversion originate? What weight can it lift?

I am partial to my Fords, LOL.
The Trader is close to finished. It is a rust free cabin Mk2 7.5 ton with 5 speed box and 2 speed axle. It has a Mk1 engine in it and thats why its not finished as I want to put the correct engine in. I have 4 late model diesels but they all need a rebuild.
The crane is of unknown origin built by someone who had way to much time on his hands. It is so handy though and gets a lot of use. It starts real easy but wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. It easily lifts an 18ft steel truck body. It has been set up so that the relief vale pops just as the steer wheels lift. It appears to have the armour plate from HMS Vanguard set into the frame as ballast.
The ram is an old truck front body hoist connected by cable. I think the tractor started life as a front end loader.

Hey Steve, looks like I’m not the only one with more projects than time!
I do like your crane, and it looks like the builder actually did a pretty good and clean job of building it. Interesting how they used cables from the cylinder to the boom rather than just attaching the cylinder to the boom, must have been a one way cylinder off a dump box or truck?
Can’t quite figure out what the V8 on the engine stand is….maybe an FE, 390…360?
And yes, the super and the Thames look sweet!

Pat , my guess that the V8 on the engine stand is a 335 series "Cleveland" V8 that was made by Ford Australia. Either a 301 or a 351 cubic inch. Correct me if I'm wrong Steve.

It's a 351C 4V large port closed chamber with solid cam and it belongs to my Cosmic Blue XA GT Falcon coupe.

Pat, see my other post about the V8, she is a 351C but not Aussie build, US 4V with the huge ports.
The Thames is styled after the 1956 F600.
