Positions of lights

Post by Nick »

Whilst im waiting for some kano kroil to turn up for an engine, i have decided to get on putting some new lights on my major. The headlights are on, as are the sidelights and rear lights on the wings (i copied my other one for positions of these). My only query is, where does the number plate light fix on the back of the tractor? Ive tried to get some original pics but cant find any, also where does the number plate itself fix?

That is possibly because there were no number plate lights! :D

The early versions had a single tail light/number plate light and the later versions had a similar unit mounted on a lift bolt.

The rear number plate was painted on the rear casting although Super Major plates were mounted on the back of the seat.

ah, now i see why no one replied brian! i guess i will have to make a bracket for the number plate to sit next to the light. its a shame that ive never really seen a completely original major thats never been messed with, i am on the look out though
