had the diesel pump re built for my super major, re fitted and engine runs perfect now.
i bought tractor as a non runner so this is the first time i have driven it, difflock pedal goes down but you have to lift it by hand to return it to the up position, problem is that whatever postion you put pedal tractor stays diff locked, what is likly to be the problem, tractor has been stationary for at least 6 months but pedal was up when i first picked it up.
many thanks Brett

Hi Brett
it could be that the push rod that runs down the inside of the brake shaft is corroded or the pedal is seized a bit, or I think there is a little spring inside that pushes the rod out to disengage the diff maybe it is broken. The ones I worked on was just the pedal being seized or brake crap on the rod sticking it. about all you can do is take the end cap off and have a look and make sure it is free and moves really easy that spring is not that strong from memory. Have you made sure the pedals right up and driven the tractor to see if it comes out with a few feet of driving.
Regards Robert

ok thats what i was hoping both brakes where sticking for first 100m now neither seem to work, so i guess i will strip brakes out and clean diff etc and see if that helps.
hopefully it will stop raining at some point this month so i can can get my teeth into it

If it has a differential lock, it would be a Super, which would have disk brakes. Dandy Dave!

If you are pulling the diff lock shaft out, put a new O ring on it otherwise you will get oil into your brakes!

had a try at looking at brakes and diff today
i had 1 hours daylight left in the day after work so thought i would get wheel off, and tractor blocked up ready to strip brakes, only problem is i got all wheel nuts and washers off but wheel is so well rusted to driveshaft it will not come off, i have even been hitting it with a sledge hammer, i will try some heat in next few days, fingers crossed that will loosen it off.

just a quick update
got the wheel off and brake discs and housung removed, everything was caked in oil and grime so cleaned it all up, diff now works fine,i just need to order a rear seal before i put brakes back together.
