Proofmeter/ Tachometer

Post by Turtle »

Hello I am new here. I just purchased my Second Fordson. My first one is a Fordson Dexta. The "New" one is a 54 Major. The tractor runs great and everything works. I am wanting to install a Proofmeter/ Tachometer on this one. I have made a bracket to hold the meter. Can anyone tell me where and which meter to get including the cable. If could please tell me how to install onto tractor. I have also found a 58 Major that am planning on purchasing. Any help would be much appreciated. Also I found a great tractor salvage yard here in east TN that has several Majors. Thank You.

Turtle,

Welcome to the world of majors.
Do you have the bended throttle lever or a strait one.
New meters and brackets and cable are new for sale. You need a cable driver on the auxiliary axle in front of the diesel pump.
Is the 58 a New Major or a Power Major. The last one has the proof meter under the steering wheel and also the throttle lever.

Could you place a few pictures?
Kind regards, Henk
