I am intending to remove the top cover on my 1958 major and am just wondering what is invloved as it is one thing i jhave never seen or done before could any one provide me with some info???

Welcome to the forum.
If you are taking the 3 pt. lift cover off, take all of the bolts out and lift it off. It's fairly heavy, so use an engine hoist to lift it.
