For the change of bearings I must lift the cover of the hydraulics





I have never done this before and I dont know whats under it ? is there something connecting something else ? were I must take care of ? as you all can see the hydraulics cover had its best time (I have a spare one but its still on a tractor)

The hydraulic top cover comes off very easily if you have something to lift it with, it is heavy! It may also be stuck on the dowels at the back and front, so make sure you have all the bolts out and then lever under the lift arms to free it off.

There is only one oil pipe down to the pump.

Once the top is off there are just two split pins and two big nuts on the axle shafts to undo. You can then use a chisel on the seal housings to lift them out of the groove on the end of the axle shaft and withdraw the halfshafts.

The next job is to remove the bearings to get to the seal. The best way is to destroy the tin seal housing to get a press behind the bearing. Even if you have the proper Churchill bearing puller, you still need to do this. New housings are cheap and readily available.

Thats what I needed, first a week on holiday and than I will give it a try.
