Sorry if this sounds a daft question but what sort of wire should be used to wire in the bolts etc in the gearbox and other areas ? Is is anything special and where can one get hold of it in the UK ?

I was given a large full roll of wire many years ago that is labeled "Mechanics Iron Wire" and this is what I've always used. No failures in 40 years. I would guess that it would be available at a machine shop or large auto parts store. Hope this helps.

Also, if you go to a hardware store, get a roll of wire for tieing re-inforcement rod together. This tie wire is often used when setting up re-rod for poored concrete. Dandy Dave!
