My 1955 FMD s (Hyacinth!) wiring loom(harness) was hacked up pretty bad and the key and light switch were inoperable.I took switch apart but it is beyond repair. With only basic wiring skills is it possible to install a new switch and a new loom? With the wiring diagram it appears straightforward.Any advice will be appreciated!
Are there any sources that have better looms/switches than others? They seem to differ somewhat in pictures.
One more question:would a 1955 be considered an"early" major? Switches are one example of parts I have found that are listed for "Major" or "Early Major" with different part numbers.
Thanks,Leeroy

Leeroy, try "Import Tractor Parts" they are out of Canada. I have also seen looms on Ebay. 613-646-7732 is the number for ITP.

The best harnesses avalable in UK are probably from Autosparks: http://www.autosparks.co.uk/
They are to OEM standard. They have comprehensive list of harnesses for the various Majors on their website, at £47.70.
