Thought that I would post up with pics of my Super Major, I'm guessing that it is a '63 (still have not gotten around to figuring out it's age yet), Robin loader, 3 PT hitch does not work right now due to wrong plate on top of lift arm plate, have new valve to be installed. I have updated a few parts with Agriline parts (Proofmeter, Seat, fuel pump, shutoff valve, temp gauge, shutoff cable, Steering Wheel)

The engine runs pretty good, I believe that one of the injectors is starting to fail, detect a little bit of a misfire, clutch was replaced recently, alternator is a GM 3 wire alternator (soon to be switched to a Ford unit) tires are old, but still hold air/calcium, got a few leaks to fix (front crank seal, injection pump shaft seal, injector seals). She is showing her age, brakes barely hold, not sure if it is just an adjustment on them, cannot stop from rolling back on a hill once moving, will hold on a little bit of a slope if already stopped and brakes pressed as hard as they can go. Would eventually like to put power steering on it, but with the loader, I'm not sure how that will work, was wondering if a power steering box off of a 7000 would bolt up and work as they are integral power steering box, no separate ram exterior of the box to run the power.

Yes, that's a circulating block heater for the cold Canadian winters up here

Here you can see the valve has been replaced by a dual spool valve, I have the proper one to go on, so I can use the 3 Pt hitch. (I got it from British Tractor Wreckers here in Saskatchewan, I'm about an hour's drive away)

The Loader was modified a bit with dual cylinders for the dump, from the single that it had

Image
Hauling it around, weighs a little bit, it was parked for the night, hence the jack is down on the trailer

My 2 Ford tractors together (almost finish restoring the 83 LGT 165 - just need to redo the decals for it again, screwed up)

Hi Welcome to the forum thats a good looking tractor for it's age:)
I have a spool on my super thats a bit different to yours it only has 1 da fitted my 2da spool unit is on the spares shelf i happened to find it laying in the grass on a wrecking yard trip  . I am told they are a rare option like the raised PTO unit you have fitted too . my 3 point works good with the unit fitted, I have a heavy brush cutter on it and use the position control for height settings .Im curious as to why you need to change yours over to something else to use the hitch :?:

I reside in Lloydminster, and IIRC Donald is from Unity, which is around an hour's drive south east from me.

I just call Donald, see what he has for parts, give him my CC# and get him to ship them Greyhound to me.

I tried actuating the 3 PT hitch with the line disconnected at the back, and actuating the spool valve, but all it did was deadhead the pressure, not allow it to actuate the 3 Pt, if the tractor sits for a long time (eg over winter) the arms will drop back down, but if you run it, the will slowly lift back up.

I have the proper aux valve plate to go in place, just have to go to Princess Auto and get a joystick spool valve to run the loader, and make up the lines to run the loader properly.

Ok im a little confused you took the line that runs the loader off and moved that lever and it dead headed if so thats correct as there is no were for the oil to go. so what happened when you moved the lever that moves in an ark in the gate on the side of the hyd top cover with both the spools in neutral :?: .

i believe i can see in the pictures why your 3pt linkage isn't working under the 2 leavers that control your loader there is a bent lever this changes the 3pt linkage fronm draft to position control above this is a half circle guide in the center of that there is a shaft coming out of the hydrolic to with a nut on the end there should be a lever on there i cant see one in the pictures if i am right try turning the shaft with some pliers clockwise is down anticlockwise is up

If you are talking about the lever to raise and lower the 3 pt hitch, it is there, in the one picture, you can see the knob right at the bottom of the picture.

I have possession of the new loader control valve, just need to mount it up to the tractor, so I can start making some lines for it, then I can get the proper valve installed.

This is what I am installing on it.

Now, for the return line from the loader valve, the filler cap is the best return port for it I'm guessing? there is no casting plug that acts as a return?

Hi
yes the best place for return is the filler for the back axle. I hope when you get this new block connected it works as Im thinking you might have a stuck valve somewhere under the top cover, unless that spool block is totally the wrong one that 3 point should work as is  .
