poor starting

Post by willy wagon »

i have rebuilt the FSM . it is hard to start, has now new injectors. compression using an old injector says 3oo on one to 325. i know thats not great, and am hoping it will get better. has not run much more than an hour since rebuild. however the old major starts great with no better compression. any ideas on where to look? does not smoke very much when running, seems to clean up good.

Possible fuel problem - ie - lift pump not working correctly- fuel lines blocked- air in system. Your compression isn't great - soz that will not help- does it have a decompressor valve?! If so is it released ?! I'm sure there's guys on here who know more about it but just a few possible symptoms :(

Don't just let it idle around in the yard. Get it out in the field and put a load on it. After pulling something like a disk, or simmilar load. It will begin to break in. An hour is just not enough time. After 20 to 25 hours of field time you should see a difference. Dandy Dave!
