Engine overhauling kits

I've been working on my Fordson 1954 engine for several months now, i opened it up completely and it's now ready for a complete rebuild. At this stage i'm looking for a complete overhauling kit, like those you can find on popular parts sites. Finding those kits is not the problem, but i seriously doubt that those kits are qualitykits. The price is tempting, but i don't want to ruin all the work i did before by using kits of doubtful quality. Does anyone have experience with those kits? Should i take the risk or spend (a lot) more money on the real stuff?

I asked my local agricultural engineer the same question and he recommended Sparex as a quality supplier and to be especially wary of no name products or ones branded by the retailer that may be a collection of cheaper origin. I bought a Sparex kit for my Dexta from Dunlops of NI and have no issues so far - I've only got as far as the head overhaul so far though.

Cheers
Andy

I have bought a few items from Dunlops over the last uyear or so and found them thoroughly reliable. I would trust both their advice and any items they sell

Emmark seem pretty good, they were recommended to me and I have used their engine parts with no problems.
