I am going to bolt my majors nosecone (the 58 one), it has six threaded holes in the tombstone for it to fix to, my question is what thread are the bolts? Is it 5/16 unf?

They are UNC, quite small from memory possibly 1/4. Pretty much all the threads into castings on a Fordson will be UNC.

well ive tried 1/4 unc, and they too small, whats the next size up, 5/16 i assume?

Yep. They're 5/16-18 NC.
