Hi Chaps, Lastnight after work i replaced the seal in the 3pt linkage lift ram. I havent tried it with any weight on the linkage yet, but ive just come in this morning and the linkage has dropped all the way down. Is this normal?? or do i need to look at something else??
Many thanks
steve

Mine drops fast. It isn't the seal at mine but the valve to operate it that leaks.
Most of the majors drop the hich during the night. Best way to check is to put an implement in it and watch how fast it lowers.

Cheers Henk, Is that the hydraulic main control valve that might be leaking??

Most of the tractors we had on the farm would drop over night no matter what color they were. My Power Major on the other hand stays up for weeks with a york rake attached. I must have slipped in it.....

I think you could be courting problems/accidents if you travel anywhere without the 3 point hydraulic pump working whilst transporting an implement. The only tractor I've ever been able to do so was a DB1200 which had a locking mechanism one could engage for transport. Some years ago the magazine Profi published a pic of a spectacular accident caused by an implement carried on a fairly modern tractor with the hydraulics dis-engaged. The cost of the repairs to the roadway and implement were somewhat costly.

I use a bar underneeth the lift arms that held in a drawbar. Selfmade.

Cheers,
Henk has a good idea that a bar hold lift arms.

My FSM stands up arms very well, abt. a week without implement.
But I have an other problem. The lift arms don't raise to the up position. System adjustment has done correctly, except "knock-off" pin. Would it be a reason? When FSM equipped with "knock-off" pin? My tractor is model -63 completed in Feb. from assembly line.

Hi Guys, Well i have hitched my mower up to the Super this evening and the lift is a 100% better when it comes to weight it can lift. But its still dropping as soon as the pto is disenageged. Also the postiton control is rubbish its pretty much either up or down, is this to do with the control valve or linkage adjustment?
Cheers
Steve

Trust you have the lever set to Position Control (not draft)?
