Well spent the morning at my parents using my new (to me) cultivator. It's a 12 footer with the small chisels on it. Used it to tear up and pull the overgrown trash out of the back 40. Wow does that old Power Major pull! Once I had most of the trash out, I figured I would make one pass with the cultivator in the dirt. I barely had her at half throttle and she just growled like an angry bear, dug in, and PULLED! She tore up small trees and showed me what she could do! Next time I'm out there (hoping Monday) I'll remember to bring my camera back with me (left it there) and I'll post pics. Still amazes me what these old beasts are capable of. Also gonna try out my 3 bottom plow. It's a pull type, so that's new to me. I've used a 2 bottom on a 3 pt 2N and I'm sure this is different.

I second the request for photos. And a video would be fantastic. You can't beat hearing the growl of a Major. :yeah:

Not a traditional use for a Major, I know. But needed to be done.

My oldest daughter learning the Major. Always a camera hog LOL.

I will post more pics as I get them from the wife's phone.

I would guess 16.9 / 14 r 30, judging by lug pattern I would say Firestones!

Tinwork in excellent condition. I'm guessing the tractor has been stored under cover most of its life. No more than this great machine deserves! Looking forward to more photos - hopefully showing her working hard. That's what Majors revel in. :yeah:

Best

Adrian

Generally the tin is in really good shape. The rear fenders could really use some TLC though. The last 10 years it has been sitting outside, although under cover of some ash trees. Last winter was the first time it has been indoors in that time, and that was in my garage to redo the wiring. I'm having a lot of fun with her so far, and yes, those are Firestones but I'm not sure of the size. Keep meaning to check, but as soon as I get out there it's time to play LOL.

Well I think I'm done cultivating now. Basically just used it as a giant rake and pulled all the trash to the corners. Gonna try out my new (to me) 3 bottom green (ick) plow next weekend I hope. I WILL take pics and video this time. Also the tires are 16.9 x 30. Good guess!

This picture reminds me when my father drove my grandfather's ford 4000 in the front of our house so that they could climb high enough to slide me into a window to get the keys when I accidentally locked the keys inside the house  .
