questions a plenty

Hi All,
I have been away for a couple years due to no cash to continue my super major rebuild project until now. I have a few questions about some items that don't compute and was hoping for some info and thank you in advance for any information. First is, on my dbl clutch I replaced the springs and plates and bolted it together and cannot for the life of me figure out why one of the smaller of the two sets of fingers sits lower than the 2nd and 3rd finger by at least 1/4 inch? I know the adjusting screws take up the slack but this is just not right. All the blocks underneath seem fine and I replaced most all the pins. Beyond that problem, I would love to know how a garage mechanic like me adjusts the ALL the fingers without the use of the special tool the book talks about. ALso wondered if I should get all the surfaces machined before install.
After cleaning and putting my steering box back in order, The thing leaked oil out the cover plate. I think the oil went through the 5 or so shims. When putting shims back under a cover plate is each side of each shim supposed to have sealent applied? If so what is the best kind to use?
I have replacement injector nozzles and managed to get my injectors apart but seem to have lost a couple larger skinny copper washers. The new nozzles came from Agriline with some copper washers but frankly I don't know where they go, the I T manual does not picture a blow up of the whole injector, washers and all.
Last question for now is I have so much slop in the front spindles that I am not sure the replacement bushing set from Agriline can fix it. I have heard (2 years ago) the replacement spindles from Agriline don't fit exactly so I would like to stick with the originals if I can. have also heard about something called a speedy sleeve and I do have a very excellent automotive machinist in town that could possible fix things that way. Any comments or suggestions about any of this would be much appreciated. I have renewed strength and now finances to see this project through to the end. Its about 75% done at this point. Thanks a million and no problem referring me to specific archives if you know which ones. Kerry
