My Fordson Power Major has starting revving excessively once in use for 10-15 minutes and blowing excessive smoke. Suggestions?

It will be a torn Govoner Diaphram. It is a simple fix. If not that then one of your govoner pipes may be leaking but most likely the diaphram.

I always thought Gisborne was in the East. Or is this continental drift?

I used to drive tractors on a farm near the Langley Tap, Chippenham, Wiltshire on a gap year when I was young, :D I don't really talk like that but can do the accent if I want to, oohh arrr.

To the OP, it could also be the rack sticking in the injector pump when hot. Check the lubricant level in the pump. Also, is the stop control stiff to use when hot?
