Super Major right rear bonnet bracket

Post by peter2 »

Hi,

while completing the bonnet with the locks I noticed, that I only have three brackets for the locks. The one on the right side of the battery is missing. In my parts list it has the number E1ADKN-16774 (Bracket R.H. (Diesel)), but there is no picture of it.
I have no idea, where it was fixed on the firewall, so has anyone here a photo of that part?

Thanks,
Peter (still waiting for rear wheels ...)

Exactly these parts are missing. Maybe my parts dealer has it laying around.

Thanks,
Peter

Funnily enough there isn't one on my Super -- nor provision to mount one either.

Hi Dave,
looks like you have seen them before :D

I use these batterys on all out working fleet tractors (about 5) as replacement.
They are very handy, a little bit more expensiv, but they don´t need any matainance! Only Thing they don´t like at all is a total unloading. That can destroy the batteries.

The one on my Major was sitting in the corner of the shop for a year after beeing to weak for a 150 hp tractor, but surprise it works on the Fordson, even without working alternator over a couple weeks 8) without reloading
Looks like I will never buy a new battery for the Major.

I have had mixed review from guys with antique cars over here. But, from what you are saying, if they have a bad, or weak charging system that may be their problem. Sounds like if you use them often enough to keep them fully charged, they are very good and reliable. Wondering how many years you get from one? Dandy Dave!
