Super major gearbox issue

Post by Majormatt »

Just finished engine and gearbox overhaul on the super major, first outing and it jumps out of high, usually on overrun, all bearings in the box have been replaced, it's a live drive box as well!
Anyone have any ideas before I start pulling things apart!? Thought I may pull the pulley off first and have a peak inside!
Any ideas?
Thanks

Typical case of selector balls and springs not holding selector forks in place. There is a previous post about sorting this problem out. Try using the "Search" facility to find it.

Found the problem, but primary box had to come out! Unfortunately when I reasablemed it first I managed to not quite line the selector fork up with the indent in the selector shaft, the grub screw had pinched just to one side and as it was such a fiddle I hadn't noticed, thus not allowing the gear to come back far enough! Just got to put it back in tomorrow :D
