registering major

Post by scoobyjim »

wanting to register my 63/64 major. All I have is the 08D number.

is it still possible to ask new Holland for a dated letter, then send that to DVLA for a document and reg number?

Hi - I don't think that will work - and dvla will give you a q reg if they bother to do it - you'd best be giving the engine number and casting dates (pictures) to someone who registeres vintage tractors - but if they don't tally up year wise then you won't get original style plate - up to you

ill do whatever it takes really.
I have done one in the past by writing to newholland, and got an age related plate.

Do you know someone that registers vintage tractors?

Dear Scoobyjim

To register your tractor it is best to go to the FFA (Ford and Fordson Association). See my post (and others on the same subject) under the subject "Chassis nos of reg no VAX 80) under the Fordson Dexta section, which gives you a link to Patrick Pawsey, the man you need. Brian also recommends this approach.

Good Luck
