I'm at work but my mind is still on getting my major started,but I won't get to it till the weekend so Ive got a quick small question for some of you guys .As ye seem to understand and source the dates of majors so quickly . I changed the block and most of the original engine with what Ive since discovered through this forum is a feb 1959 Thames trader engine but wondered ,if ye could help me with the back end as I have variations on throttles and clocks etc
On gear box beside clutch
K13C
Under seat E1ADKN
994787
T1
Go on let me know so I can sleep!
It's got drum brakes
No differential
It's got the under tank throttle ( not connected)
And has the hand throttle and clocks at the steering wheel?
K = august
13 = date
C + 1959
So engine and backend are the same year. It would make a Power Major model.
You should use the hand throttle and clocks at the steering wheel?
Can you give us some pictures, like the front and rear wheels and the dashboard?
Henk, that's brilliant news myself and my young son can't believe the luck .we pulled the old block out as it was cracked then bought another engine and it was also cracked and then a mate located the 1959 engine which turned out to be a Thames trader engine.this will make it much easier to restore.It is still under rebuild but ill try to upload a pic or two . Thanks so much for taking the time out to help us . Thanks again .
