I told those boys of mine to be sure and leave enough room to get the tractor out

Re: Wood Shed Major
Sound like some good lads Matt, next time you'll have to be more precise and add 'without a crane'
I recall a time when delighted that after bringing them back from the rally field for a chap who let me play with them, I'd managed to park up his row of Field Marshalls in much less space in his shed than usual, that was until the following week when I had to bike over after he'd called me to say he couldn't get them started, when I saw him with a starting handle stood in front of them I realised why, bloody great handle which goes in the side and someone hadn't left enough space between them to get it in
He's gone now and the Marshalls sold all over the place but the shed is still standing and I have a smile each time I drive past, we live and learn, mostly

Pity he didn't have some blank cartridges for the side pistol.

Lovely photo, Matt. Your boys certainly know how to cut, chop and stack wood. Like the Major, they obviously don't mind hard work.
Best, Adrian.

Ah he had (although not all were fitted with cartridge start) Pavel BUT it was the 'self' educational bit that was important for him, count myself fortunate to have rubbed shoulders with and learned from several old timers from the pre digital agePavel wrote:Pity he didn't have some blank cartridges for the side pistol.
