Date of production

Hallo,
I posted in the conversion forum about my newly bought tractors.
I was quite sure the Super Major was July 21st 1961 castingcodes saying J21F.
But in a different table, later Majors from 1963 can have the same castingcode but the date would be June 21st 1963 :?
That date would be one of the last prodctiondays before the New Performance series started

The engine was replaced, but the original engine number is suppossed to be 161250 4.
Can anyone bring some light into the darkness?

Dear Matthias

My Super Major has K31F and K28F casting codes and its (original) engine no is 1616419. It was made at Dagenham in September 1961. It was exported to Holland, with 38 inch rear wheels, a radiator blind, a km per hour rev counter (made by a French company called "OS", rather than AC or Smiths) and front headlights attached on the side of the front cowl with yellow bulbs fitted! Now safely back in UK, I have to get rid of the aftermarket direction indicators! Hope that helps you date your tractor, which would suggest it is a July/August 1961 model.

Thank you Tim,
that could be the missing link for me.
An enginenumber only 4.000 units awy from my tractor makes it pretty sure to be a 1961 Super Major.
The 38" rears and the "OS" rev counter are the same on my tractor.
