Toolbox location Power Major

Can anyone help me with the correct location of the "standard" toolbox on a 1958 Power Major?
We have a tractor used for launching boats on Anglesey which is now almost complete but not being restored to show condition but needs to be tidy.
There is a roll bar fitted from Studall or Bowman which is a folding unit. This is Ok and will be kept but rattles like mad. There are spring loaded pegs which are now free but the springs seem to have their coils "bound" and will not spring easily. I have no details of the construction but suspect the springs are full of rust scale and dried mud. I have tried to get as much out as possible but still cannot remove the springs even after lots of Duck Oil. Any ideas as the tubes seem sealed at the bottom with no drain holes etc.
