I am looking to secure the dashboard on my 58 Major. The old screws have rusted badly and don't look original anyway and the clips which fit into the drillings are damaged or missing. Any suggestions on source of original spares or a quick fix. I am sure I have seen references to using 1/4" concrete fastenings but unable to trace the thread.
Problem is the tractor is on Anglesey and I am 120 miles away so measuring the holes is difficult at this distance.
That's the one I was looking for. Many thanks much appreciated. I was also thinking of tapping the boss and using long screws or lengths of screwed rod with domed nuts but this seems much simpler.
Was in Wisconsin in February in Green Bay and Rhinelander really cold.
Glad to help. And yes it was miserably cold this last winter, very little snow and single digit or below 0 temps for months straight. It really drove the frost down, there were water lines down 4' that were freezing. we didn't even have enough snow to run the snowmobiles except for on the rivers, I managed to break my collar bone coming round a bend with some other sleds heading towards me, and we were all going way faster than we should have been. needless to say spring this year was really appreciated.
