My Major don't have any lights on it.
I'm looking at the wiring diagram for the Diesel.
http://www.fordson.se/7_El_Verkstadsmanual_191-224.pdf
on page 33 of the above link.
Since I am replacing the Generator with an Alternator
Installing a new Key Switch, new Stater, changing the ground to a negative ground system, eliminating the old voltage regulator and solanoid...
Why can't I just eliminate some of the wires or wiring harness?
I'll be running new wire from the battery through the new amp guage to the Alternator
and new wire from the starter to the key switch to the battery.
So why keep the old wiring harness?
Does the Simms Fuel injector need power?
I don't see it on the wiring diagram.
What else needs power? I have no lights on the tractor.
Thanks for your help!
Larry

Hi Larry,
My suggestion would be to carefully remove the whole wiring harness and other accessories that you no longer need, mark the wire connections and put it all into storage. Even if the original harness is a mess it will be a great guide for making a new one if you ever decide to do a complete restoration later down the track.
The wiring you need to make your tractor run will only consist of a few wires and it will be easy to run new wires when the old loom is out of the way. I am still kicking myself for not keeping the wiring off our old E27N when I pulled it off 32 years ago. All of the other stuff that was stored at the old farm came my way so I would have had it in my hands now.
Regards, Frank.
